RESOLUTIONS OF THE UGONSA
NATIONAL EXECUTIVE MEETING
Following
the meeting of the National Executives of UGONSA held on Tuesday 8th,
August 2022, to strategize on how to advance the association's course and meet
members' demands, the following resolutions, among others, were made.
1. That
all state chapters whose present executives had served for a period of eight
(8) years and/or above should conduct elections and handover to new executives in
line with the constitutionally stipulated elections guidelines.
2. That
henceforth, the association shall only attend to requests from nurses with
evidence of registration with the association/or online verification of
membership on the association’s website www.ugonsa.org
showing their membership e-ID card number and are financially active to the
association.
3. That
state chapters are encouraged to liaise with their zonal leaders to develop
their state chapters’ letterhead for effective and official operations at the
state level and to pursue certain demands from their various employers and
other assignments.
4. That
States with no consensus on welfare dues should adopt a flat rate of N500 (five
hundred naira). This, in addition to the monthly dues of N500 (five hundred
naira) shall make the monthly checkoff dues (COD) a N1000 (one thousand naira)
flat rate. States with welfare dues less than N1000 are advised to review it to
foster befitting welfare packages for members in the face of skyrocketing
inflation.
5. That
state chapters are to make a monthly remittance of forty percent (40%) of all
revenues generated in their states into the national account as contained in
Article XI paragraph 2b of our constitution (page 17). And to remit all
outstanding non-remittances accruable to the National to the following account
details:
Account Name: University Graduates of Nursing Science Association
Account Number: 3089525712
Bank: First Bank PLC.
6.
In
cases where the National directly checked off dues from members, it shall remit
40% to the State and 20% to the unit where such revenue was generated as
stipulated in Article XI- subsections b,c,d.
Thank you.
