Updates on Induction Ceremony Awards and Enlistment of New Graduates

The University Graduates of Nursing Science Association (UGONSA) remains an unrepentant vanguard that celebrates nurses, represents their interest, empowers them for value-added services to patients, and showcase their exploits to the world. It is on these principles that UGONSA made it a duty to enlist fresh graduates of Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) during their induction ceremony to award the prestigious UGONSA Certificate of Outstanding Performance (UCOP) to deserving students. UGONSA wishes to expand the categories of the UCOP awards. Currently, we have two major categories of the award, namely UCOP in Academics – awarded to the best graduating student, and UCOP in Politics – awarded to most outstanding student leader. The association plans to expand the award categories to accommodate more students who distinguished themselves in other endeavours, such as research, clinical practice, and innovation. The association also plans to increase the cash value of the award. Considering the dynamics of the current economic realities, we are hereby notifying nursing students, heads of department (HODs) of nursing, and the entire nursing community that starting from 1st January 2024, there will be an adjustment to the induction enlistment fee from N2000 (two thousand naira) to N3000 (three thousand naira). Together, we shall continue to reposition and re-engineer nursing with positive changes!
